Music Club
Solo Festivals - Grades 5-8
Solo festivals allow student musicians to perform individually and showcase their talent in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students perform a musical selection before a professional adjudicator and receive a rating and feedback on their performance. Solo festivals are held once a year. Students in chorus have the option to perform a vocal solo. Students in band have the opportunity to perform a solo on their instrument. Students are selected for the Elementary and Junior High All-County Band based on their score. Solo festivals are not only a chance for students to shine on their own, but also a chance to build confidence, receive professional evaluation, and take pride in their hard work.
All County Chorus/Band
The Genesee Wyoming Music Educators Association hosts two All-County festivals every year. These festivals include Elementary (grades 4-6) band and chorus and Junior High (grades 7-8) band and chorus. Under the guidance of distinguished guest conductors, students rehearse and perform challenging repertoire, culminating in a concert. The festivals celebrate musical excellence, collaboration, and the power of the performing arts to unite communities.
