Welcome to the Health Office   

 

All students in the district have access to services proved by the school nurse, a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of a School Physician.  Our School Physician is Dr. David Breen, a pediatrician from Dansville.

Services available to students include:

• First Aid for illness or injury
  • In the event of a serious accident or other emergency, every effort is made to contact the parent immediately. When parents cannot be contact, an emergency ambulance is called and the student is taken to an appropriate medical facility.
• Control of communicable diseases
  • Immunication protection is monitored at appropriate intervals, and when needed, skin and other screenings are done. Head lice checks will be done as needed; at the beginning of the school year and after extended holiday breaks. Special monitoring and managment procedures are maintained for control of other contagious diseases.
• Health Screening
  • Screenings include vision, hearing, height, weight, and scoliosis at age appropriate intervals to identify suspected health problems.
  • Parents will be notified of student immunization needs and other acute care or health maintenance needs that require assessment and follow-up by your family doctor.
